I took a day trip to Abu Dhabi, the capital city of the UAE, about 30 minutes from Dubai. The first stop was the beautiful Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. Women had to be covered from head to toe and arms (long pants or long skirt, and long sleeves with no see-through fabrics). The head had to be covered with a scarf at all times. Men could wear whatever they wanted:) Those women not dressed properly were not allowed to go in. Everyone had to remove their shoes before entry. There were separate female and male entrances, but once inside everyone walked around together.
The tour then stopped at Heritage Village, with views of the water and skyline of Abu Dhabi, then a lunch stop at Marina Mall, and finally Ferrari World on Yas Island.
